Living it up at 90

Hello crafty peeps how are we today good I hope, Well what a change in the weather not for the better for me I guess that’s  our summer gone oh well the joys of living in UK.
So my card for you today is another card I made for my Nan in Law that will be 90 on Monday.
This card has been made to be sent from her daughter (my mom in law
This is my wonderful Nan in law having a cuppa the other day hard to believe she is turning 90 she is a beautifullady inside and out.
As May (nan in law) was a seamstress by trade I wanted to make a card with sewing detailing on  this is what I came up with.

The papers are from pixel scrapper (all links below to where things are from)
I distressed and inked the edges with distress inks and added a doily to add some interest. I also added some polkadot ribbon .

I printed off some clip art cotton reels and embossed them with clear powder then wound thread around them and glued in place.

The image is by Mo Manning love these fairies they’re so sweet and a joy to colour for which I used polychromo and prisma pencils. I then made tiny slits around the needle and feet (where the thread is laid in image ) and added some more embroidery thread to through the eye of needle and along the line.
Finally the inside and yes this is the lady that likes a nice verse lol so always a challenge to find a different meaningful verse for her as I end up making about 3 cards for her on a birthday and Christmas lol

I decided to added the image (uncoloured) to the bottom corners of the insert this time I haven’t done that for a while as the verse was a little long and went on both pages.
So there it is another card for my Nan in Law hope you like it and I will see you again very soon

Lil' Miss Sugarpops Giggles

the weather is going to get cooler now what a joke why can’t we have a decent run of sunny weather.
Anyway I am back to share another card I have recently made but not been able to share with you for one reason or another
This card was made for the new release launch a couple of weeks ago of Lil’ Miss Sugarpops over at Polkadoodles

For this card I have made a crossover pocket card as the kits are mainly meant for pocket letters and such I wanted to carry the idea of using pockets on my cards and what  better way than this style.

To make these cards is really easy you just need 2 square cards and attach then together then cut the corners off the front pieces, decorate the card as you desire making sure you do the inside back panel and the 2 front corner then stick the fronts down but remembering only to stick down and the bottom lol, then embellish as you want.

I used sentiments and flowers from the collection and some lace to embellish mine. . I then made the inner piece for this you need it slightly smaller than your main card so it can come in and out and then matt and layer with your desired papers then add your image. For mine I added giggles and the sentiment of the same. I coloured the image with a mix of polychromo and Prisma pencils. You could decorate the back of this as well if you want by matting with the papers you have used then maybe adding a verse and writing your own greeting.I also made 2 handles using edging dies from spellbinders  and add a bow to each to hide the join under the papers.

Anyway that is my card for today I hope you like it links are below to all things Polkadoodles and I will see you again very soon

Baby Fairy Butterfly for 90th Birthday

I’m back with another make for you today, the weather today seems a little cooler than yesterday by that was a sticky one

Anyway this card is one I have made for my Nan in Law who will be 90 on Monday. She is the lady that likes a verse in a card, so it’s always a challenge when I have to make her a card to find a verse I think she will love (I haven’t failed her yet though lol) This one is from Amy.

So for this card I have gone with floral papers (daisies) sorry not sure where they are from I think they are from a docraft CDROM but I could be wrong.

The image is from Mo Manning which I have coloured using polychromo and prisma pencils, I’m really pleased with the colouring on this I love how the wings have turned out.
I kept the embellishments simple and die cut (freebie with a magazine)some flowers out and made them into daisies adding flock to centres.

Finishing touches were of course the insert with the verse. I decided not to add the image to the insert as the verse was quite long.
Hope you like it.

So as you know I have had some birthday cards to make lately some were for my father in law who turned 70 on the 7th June and no I haven’t had chance to post the cards on here until now yikes

So for this card which I really enjoyed making and colouring, I made this one from Phil and myself. The papers are from Pixel scrapper and the image is from Mo Manning which I coloured with polychrome pencils.
Then I finished off with some hessian threads, a button, some embossed beer glasses (cut out fron card) and then the insert.
